A Discussion on AI

Artificial Intelligence has long evolved from our imagination into a key driver for our next industrial revolution. Both the incumbents and the disruptors are joining the AI race which is going to re-write the rules for many industries. What will the future sectors look like with AI, and what does it entail for human intelligence?

Co-organised by LSEAAS, UPenn Alumni Club and The Straits Clan, join speakers Nicholas Chng, Kevin Pereira, and David Hardoon, with moderation by Patrick Boyd to explore the rise of artificial intelligence and its impact within financial services, technology and beyond.

About The Speakers:
Nicholas Chng is the Head of Strategy and Ops at Grab, overseeing the combined risk umbrella - a team dedicated to protecting the integrity and trust within the Grab ecosystem. Prior to his current position, Nicholas drove the overall AI strategy across the organisation.

Kevin Pereira is currently a Managing Director at Blu Artificial Intelligence, a consulting firm that specialises in advising companies on how they can best overlay and implement AI on top of their existing business strategies.

David Hardoon is Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) where he leads the development of the AI strategy for Singapore’s financial sector and drives MAS’ efforts in promoting open cross-border data flows.

Patrick Boyd hails from Vancouver, Canada but now calls Singapore home. He is employed by SC Ventures – the innovation arm of Standard Chartered – where he heads up the intrapreneurship program and evangelizes design thinking across the bank’s 90,000 staff across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
