Back by popular demand, the LSEAAS presents you the second installment of China Club Speaker Series – In Conversation with Senior Alumni: Lutfey Siddiqi, Global Head, Emerging Markets - FX, Rates and Credit at UBS Investment Bank; Ong Ye Kung, Director of Group Strategy, Keppel Corporation; and Rajiv Biswas, Asia-Pacific Chief Economist at IHS on "Major Trends that shape the Economy and Investment Outlook”.

Against a spectacular view of the City, & networking over a dinner buffet & drinks at the China Club – one of the best executive clubs in Singapore; we look forward to an evening of lively, quick-fire & spirited debate in an intimate, closed-door setting.

The China Club Singapore was inaugurated on 19th May 2001 & forms part of the family of The China Club Hong Kong and The China Club Beijing, which have in the last ten years, become synonymous with the best of executive clubs. It is an elegant, members-only club, built atop the 52nd floor of Singapore's premium commercial tower, The Capital Tower, located in the Central Business District. The Club is surrounded by 16 metre-tall glass with perhaps the most spectacular views across Singapore. On a clear day, Malaysia and Indonesia can be glimpsed.

Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis and limited to 50pax. Please register promptly.

Speaker Profiles:

Lutfey Siddiqi is Global Head, Emerging Markets - FX, Rates and Credit at UBS Investment bank. He is an LSE alumnus, and an Adjunct Professor at the Risk Management Institute, National University of Singapore. He is a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum where he is also a member of the network of Global Agenda Councils.

Ong Ye Kung is Director of Group Strategy at Keppel Corporation. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Secretary-General of National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), the Chief Executive of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency and was the Deputy Chief Negotiator for the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. He is an LSE alumnus and has an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is also a Trustee of the Singapore LSE Trust.

Rajiv Biswas is Asia-Pacific Chief Economist at IHS. He previously worked as Director for South-East Asia for The Economist Group and has also worked as an international economist for several global banks and as a consultant for the United Nations. He is a graduate of the LSE and received his M.Sc. and D.I.C. from Imperial College, London University. He recently published an LSE Working Paper about the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Silk Road Fund and BRICS Development Bank entitled “Reshaping the Financial Architecture for Development Finance: The New Development Banks” published by the London School of Economics (Working Paper Number 2/2015, LSE Global South Unit at link: http://eprints.lse.ac.uk/cgi/stats/report/eprint/61120
