Talk & Reception with Professor Danny Quah, 12 January 2009

The LSEAAS is pleased to host Professor Danny Quah , Head of Department and Professor of Economics on Level 30, One Marina Boulevard, Allen and Gledhill.

With Prof. Quah in town, what better speaker is there to share perspectives and makes sense of the current economic crisis than the No. 1 Economics Professor from the LSE?

Professor Quah presented on "China and the Global Economy".

The global economy is in recession, from a worldwide credit crunch due to the US sub prime mortgage crisis. What roles can China play now and in the future? How will the US and other Western economies rise again from this, and how will international relations surrounding China change as a result? What other poles of economic power in the world might emerge?

After the talk, we all adjourned to Harry's @ The Sail for food and drink and conversations flowed freely and into the night.
