Chinese New Year 2011 Special “Lo Hei” Lunch Celebration! 12 February 2011

Chinese New Year 2011... and 45 Alumni and Friends of the LSE packed, and exceeded the full-house capacity in Xi Yan - Singapore’s first private dining restaurant for contemporary Chinese/Asian cuisine.

The splendid private dining, reservations only venue was a melting-pot of friendly, hearty and lively chatter as old friends met again and new ones made.

As diners found their seats - what followed can only be described as dish after dish of ambrosial, impeccable and yummilicious cuisine! The presentation was beautiful and the taste exquisite.

Diners tucked into a sumptuous eight-course spread - washed down with fragrant Chinese tea and wines, which were brought and shared in the spirit of the festivity.

Special guest Dr. Kirsten Schulze from the Department of International History at the LSE who is transiting Singapore enroute to Indonesia, provided a brief but compelling and engaging introduction of her research in Indonesia midway through lunch.

Special thanks to Yeoh Xinyi and her team for the excellent organisation for the event. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon, and it was close to 1700hrs before the last guest left... a wonderful way to usher in the Year of the Rabbit!
